Shri Nagendra Nath Sinha, an IAS officer from the 1987 batch of the Jharkhand cadre, has worked as Secretary to Government of India in the Ministry of Rural Development and the Ministry of Steel. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and a Master's in Health Sciences from Johns Hopkins University.
His distinguished career includes significant roles in both Central and State Governments, such as Secretary (Border Management) at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and Managing Director of the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd.
Shri Sinha has overseen major projects like the Mega Sports Complex & Games Village at Ranchi and the Ranchi Ring Road, and has contributed to important infrastructure developments, including the Aizawl-Turpong Road and Delhi-Mumbai Expressways. His work extends to policy development with contributions to the PWD Code 2012 and public-private partnership policies. As Secretary of the Ministry of Steel, he focused on advancing the steel industry, fostering sustainable growth, and promoting technological innovation. His interests include sustainable development, ICT, infrastructure, health, and institution building.
